Battle of the Paddle at Pinetree 2019

We have uploaded about 80% of registered participants.  If have paid but do not see your name in the players list, your name should appear there within the next two days.

Please make sure you pay.  If you have not paid, you will be bumped and your spot will be offered to teams on the waitlist.

PLEASE pay your registration fees by the due date you received in the email that provided you with payment instructions.  FAILING TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN YOU LOSING YOUR SPOT TO PLAYERS/TEAMS ON THE WAITLIST.  Only players who have paid up will be listed on this website (early next week).

We have received over 300 emails in the first few minutes of registration opening.  Our capacity is around 240 participants.  In other words, there will be waitlists for events.  Players who registered in time should have been contacted by now with payment instructions.  Please by the specified date to secure your spot. 

I will update player information once I have received it from the Pinetree registration staff.  Wailtisted players will also be shown.  We will add teams from waitlists if other events do not fill up.  Also, speaking from experience, there are always cancellations prior to the tournament.

Welcome Picklers!

We hope you register for the Battle of the Paddle pickleball tournament held from Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7 at the Pinetree Community Centre in Coquitlam, BC.

Unless we combine events due to a low number of teams in particular events, event brackets will be:

Men’s and Women's Singles 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 on Friday, April 5 starting at 5:00 p.m.

Men’s and Women’s Doubles 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5. and 5.0 on Saturday, April 6 starting at 8:30 a.m.

Mixed Doubles 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 on Sunday, April 7 starting at 8:30 a.m.

We encourage you to register as early as possible in case the tournament fills up.     

Registration fee for Non-PCO members: $42.50 ($22.50 for Juniors)

Registration fee for PCO members (PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR PCO, NOT USAPA NUMBER, when registering): $35 ($15 for Juniors)

Each event costs $10.

A note about registration: 

To register for this tournament, you must contact the Pinetree Community Centre via e-mail.  You cannot use pickleballtournaments.com to register.

Registrations will open on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

Please have your PCO (not USAPA) number ready.

We anticipate a high volume of emails.  Once you have registered, you will be contacted via email with instructions for payment within the week.  Remember, your partner has to register as well for your team to be 'complete'.

Registrations will be via email only and processed in sequence:

Registrations received prior to January 21 at 8:00 a.m. will not be considered. 

For men's, women's and mixed doubles, your team is not registered unless both players have registered AND paid.  First come, first served.  

BOTH players must send an INDIVIDUAL email to register.  In other words, one player cannot register his/her partner(s).

Once you submit your registration info, you will receive an email within the week with instructions for payment.

RATINGS:

I have received a number of questions regarding the rating(s) to be used for registration.  As a result I have spoken to PCO and recommend you do the following - IN ORDER:

1) If you have UTPR (new USAPA) ratings, use those for registering for your events.

2) If you do not have UTPR ratings, use your PCO ratings for your events.

As usual, you can play up a level, but not down a level.

Participants cannot sign up for more than one event per day.

We will attempt to post the schedule a few days prior to Friday, April 5 so that you will be able to see when you will play your matches. The schedules for both days will be posted on the Fraser Valley Pickleball website: https://www.fraservalleypickleball.com/
