Bannister Honda - Put Your Paddle to the Medal

The 3nd Annual Bannister Honda - Put Your Paddle to the Medal Pickleball Tournament is hosted by the Vernon Pickleball Association (VPA) from Aug 23 to 25, 2019

This tournament will raise money for our Dedicated Courts fund.  VPA is excited to be holding this tournament on our new 12 outdoor courts.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  

Bannister Honda - Put Your Paddle to the Medal
is a 3 day skill based competition promoting fun and fellowship.

The event will be played outdoors at the Okanagan Wealth Advisors Pickleball Complex in Vernon on 12 courts.

This is a Tier II Pickleball Canada (PCO) sanctioned tournament consequently you must be a PCO member to participate.  Please have your PCO number available when you register. IFP Rules will apply.

As a sanction tournament, players can not play below their PCO rating (you can play up).  We encourage all players to register at a level appropriate to their skill level, even if they do not have a PCO rating.  Teams must play according to the higher rating within the team members. You can not play lower just because your partner has a lower rating/skill level.  Remember, close games are a lot more fun that lop-sided wins!  And you want to truly earn your medal!

Tournament Information

The tournament format will be Double Elimination, Skill/Age.

Cost:  $40 per player, $10 for each event entered.

Registration starts Saturday May 18, 2019 at 10:00 and is open until July 23, 2019.

You can register for the following events - maximum of 2 events per player.

Age Groups 16 - 59, 60+                    Skill Groups 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0

Friday Aug 23: Women's Doubles

Saturday Aug 24: Mixed Doubles

Sunday Aug 25: Men's Doubles

Tournament Ball:  Skill Level 3.0 and 3.5        Onix Fuse G2

                              Skill Level 4.0, 4.5, 5.0       DuraFast 40

    •    Online tournament registration is required at www.pickleballtournaments.com

    •    Note that although you register online, your registration is not complete until you mark your registration complete and your payment has been received.

    •    All players must have a current Pickleball Canada membership.  Please update your profile on www.pickleballtournaments.com , including your correct UTPR rating as of  May 1, 2019 before registering for this event.

         Your on-line registration will include on-line payment via credit card or PayPal.

         Pickleball Canada membership will be available onsite through the VPA for $5.00

    •    The Tournament Committee reserves the right to place players in their appropriate skill level category.

Tournament Schedule

Registration/Check-in will be open at 7:30AM each day.  Please check-in at the registration desk each day you play.  Players need to be in attendance at least 30 minutes before schedule play.  Play may start earlier if a prior event finishes early.

No refunds after 31 July 2019 unless you arrange for a replacement at the same skill level and same events.
