ALL EVENTS ARE LIMITED and are expected to fill quickly.

During Registratoin, players listed in events
MUST PAY ALL THEIR FEES & SIGN THE WAIVER AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION
to remain eligible for the event.
Players or teams with unpaid registration/event fees will be moved to the wait list.

During Registration, players with wait list only events
MUST PAY THEIR REGISTRATION FEE & SIGN THE WAIVER
to be considered eligible for movement off the wait list.

Players with wait list only events may request a full refund of their registration fees before ~~4/15/2021~~.

April 18, 2021 has been extended to accomodate our Canadian players whose government will make their next announcement concerning travel to the USA.

Due to COVID we will not be taking payment at the time of registration. Please make sure to register AND SIGN the WAIVER to be eligible for an event. Once the tournament team is ready to proceed with collection of payment, you will be notified by email and given a future pay-by-date to stay in the event (this date will be strictly enforced).

Your UTPR skill rating at registration will determine bracket throughout the tournament

Players with a 5.5 or 6.0 UTPR skill rating in any event as of 1/1/2021 are NOT eligible for this tournament

Media Day, Open Play Day, Early Check-in for players to pick up tournament gift bag

Age Groups

55+, 60+ doubles brackets will be played on Mon, Tues and Wed. (Skil/Age)

65+, 70+ doubles brackets will be played on Mon, Tues and Wed (Age/Skill)

19+,35+, 50+, 55+, 60+ singles events will be played on Thurs. (Skill/Age)

65+, 70+ singles events will be played on Thurs. (Age/Skill)

19+, 35+, 50+, doubles events will be played on Fri, Sat and Sun (Skill/Age)

Please note the oldest age division offered is 70+. All 65+, 70+ divisions are first formed by Age and if a bracket is combined would be by skill. Example: 65+ 3.0 & 3.5, 65+ 4.0, 65+ 4.5 & 5.0

Medals

Brackets may be combined, at our discretion. Medals will NOT be awarded in individual brackets, if combined. Gold medal winners will qualify for pre-registration for the 2021 Nationals.

Partner Change Policy

Any registered player losing a partner must replace that partner with an already registered player.
The replacement must be able to play in the same skill/age or age/skill group that you are scheduled to play. Please note that when looking for a replacement, players may play down in age and up in skill.
Replacements need to be known and communicated to Dee Davison by 3 pm day before you are scheduled to play
Any request for replacements coming in after 3 pm the day before you are scheduled to play will be reviewed for approval.
Replacements can be found on the players needing partners list, on the main welcome page of this tournament.

Refund Policy

~~April 15, 2021~~ April 18, 2021- Final date to withdraw and receive a refund (less $25 processing fee)

this date was extended a few days to allow our Canadian players time to review their governments new
travel regulations scheduled for April 17, 2021

No Refunds requests will be accepted after April 15, 2021

No Refunds will be given for the PLS Foundation Donations for any reason

All refunds will be processed after May 24, 2021(completion of tournament)

All refunds will be processed prior to June 14, 2021

Wait List Player Policy

~~April 15, 2021~~ April 18, 2021 is the date your decision MUST BE MADE.

1) Will you request a full refund of your registration fees with no processing penalty, in essence removing yourself from the tournament

OR

2) Will you stay in the tournament on the wait list and know that if you are never listed in an event you will forfeit your registration fees.

If you are already playing in the tournament in an event and:

1) have a waitlist for another event, no fees are charged to stay in the waitlist event.

2) have a credit due a cancellation of an event, then a refund of those fees will be made at the conclusion of the tournament.

Inclement Weather Policy

* No refunds or credits if the tournament is impacted by weather

* This is an outdoor tournament.

* No indoor facility is planned for a backup.

Format

Weather Event Policy

Tournament Director reserves the right to change the format of play based on participation or weather conditions.

In the event of weather, the tournament team will make every effort to complete all matches. However it i an outdoor tournament and adjustments and/or cancellations are possible. There is no provision to play indoors or have a makeup day beyond the current tournament schedule.

SINGLES EVENTS -- ALL ROUND ROBIN FORMATS

All singles events will be a round robin format - 1 game to 15 win by 2

Brackets with Fewer than 3 players

Brackets with 1 or 2 players will be combined with another bracket in order to have a minimum of 3 players. We will make every effort to keep the maximum bracket size of 6 players.

DOUBLES EVENTS

Double Elimination Brackets (6 or more teams)
Winners bracket – 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2.

Losers bracket – 1 to 15, win by 2

Bronze medal matches – 1-15, win by 2.

Gold medal matches – 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2. If the losers bracket wins 2 out of 3 to 11, then another match will be played 1-15, win by 2 tiebreaker game will be played to determine the winner.

Round Robin Brackets (4 Minimum Teams)

4 and 5 teams or players will play a single round robin, 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2.

Brackets with Fewer than 4 teams

Fewer than 4 teams/players will be moved into a combined bracket. The number of teams or players will determine the format of play.

Remember events are either skill/age or age/skill. Skill/age combine events by skill set (3.5: 19+, 35+ and 50+) and Age/Skill combine events (65+: 3.0/3.5/4.0 etc).

Since our tournament will be sanctioned, the Round Robin results must be determined following the USA Pickleball Rulebook:

12.C.3. Round Robin. All players or teams play each other. Games may use any of the approved tournament scoring options. (See Rule 12.B.) The winner is determined based on number of matches won. If two or more teams are tied:

12.C.3.a. First tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.

12.C.3.b. Second tie-breaker: point differential of all games played. (e.g., Team A won Match 1 11-8, 11-4, so they would have a point differential of +10. Team A then wins the second match 11-9, 2-11, 11-6. For this round, they would have a point differential of -2. This would give them a total for the day of +8.)

12.C.3.c. Third tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.

12.C.3.d. Fourth tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (e.g., If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team.)

Located on the main tournament page is a button "Event Player List"...click on the button, then your day of play and select the bracket...here you will see the registrations for and your name.
