Tournament Description

You will not be confirmed into the tournament until both you and your partner have completed your registrations. That includes having a valid USA Pickleball membership listed in your pickleballtournaments.com profile, signing the waiver, and submitting payment. This is a NATIONAL QUALIFIER FOR THE 2021/2022 USA Pickleball National Championships in Indian Wells, CA.

Other Registration Info

The USA Pickleball Newport Beach National Championships is a National Qualifier for the 2021/2022 USA Pickleball National Championships at Indian Wells, as well as the Newport Beach Series of pickleball tournaments.

Gold medalists in the Pro Divisions will receive a "Golden Ticket" -  preregistration to the 2021 USA Pickleball National Championships.

All gold medalists in the Amateur Divisions will receive "Golden Tickets" - preregistration to the 2022 USA Pickleball National Championships.

PAYMENT/PARTNER POLICY

Players must be paid and have a registered and paid partner to be confirmed.  Players not paid and without registered and paid partners will be moved to a wait list if the division in which a spot is being held is filled with fully registered and paid teams. 

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

This is an outdoor tournament. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs,  Newport Beach Pickleball Events will do all it can to ensure matches are played. If brackets are in mid-play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs, the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners can be  determined.

No refunds will be made for any reason after the CANCELLATION DEADLINE unless the Registration & Weather Insurance Policy has been purchased prior to the CANCELLATION DEADLINE.

REGISTRATION & WEATHER INSURANCE POLICY

If you withdraw before the CANCELLATION DEADLINE, you will be issued a full refund without the need to purchase Registration Insurance.

During registration you may choose to purchase the Registration & Weather Insurance. See the policy for specific coverage details. The insurance will also cover your event fee if your event is cancelled due to weather without a make-up day option.

PARTNER REPLACEMENT POLICY

Any registered player losing a partner must replace that partner with an already registered player. The replacement must be in the same skill/age group that you are scheduled to play. Players can play down in age and up in skill.  Replacements need to be known and communicated to Debbie at: pickleball@javete.com by 12pm the day before you are scheduled to play. Replacements can be found on the "players needing partners" list.

Format

• Double Elimination
• Main Draw: 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2.
• Consolation Draw: 1 game to 15, win by 2.
• All players are guaranteed (2) matches.
• If there are only 4 or 5 teams in a bracket, the format goes to a single round robin format. 2 out 3 games to 11 win by 2
• If there are 3 or less teams in a bracket, the brackets will be combined with the closest age brackets within the same skill level.
