Cancellation Policy

This is an outdoor tournament.  There is no indoor back up.  If weather is a factor, we will do all we can to play matches, including moving matches to another day, if possible.  There are no refunds, unless you purchased the Monterey Bay Pickleball tournaments weather program, or make up days if the tournament is impacted by weather. 

Partner Replacement Policy:

If your partner cancels, email montereybayracquetclub@gmail.com add a new partner. Check the FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/2458540430948144

You may choose a partner who is not already registered in the Monterey Bay Pickleball Open, until April 10th.  After April 10th, you must choose a sub from a player already registered in the Monterey Bay Pickleball Open.  Replacement players must be able to play in the same skill/age group that you have a spot in.  Keep in mind, as your search for a replacement, that players may play down in age and up in skill.  Replacements must be communicated to montereybayracquetclub@gmail.com by 6 p.m. the day before your event is scheduled to play.  Any request for replacements after 6 p.m. will be reviewed by the Tournament Director for approval.  Replacements can be found on the players needing partners list.

Once you go through the main entrance go left.  The you will pass the ball room on the left.  You will see 2 yellow gates.  That is where you park.  Courts are in the back. 

Format

The format for this tournament will be a round-robin, games to 15. The format for each event will depend on the final team count, as follows:

1-2 teams will be combined with adjacent bracket as described below.

3-4 teams will play a DOUBLE round robin.

5-6 teams will play a SINGLE round robin.

7-9 teams will play a SINGLE round robin 

10 or more teams will be divided into pools

Brackets that have fewer than 3 teams will be combined by skill. The combination will go into the adjacent bracket with the fewest number of teams.

Winning teams will be determined in the following order:

1.  Win/Loss Record

2.   Head-to-Head

3.   Point Differential

Medals will be awarded for1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all combined events. Medal rounds will be 2/3 games to 11.
