Tournament Description

2022 Park City Summer Classic will be played at Willow Creek Park in Park City. We will have 12 courts. 8 will be dedicated pickleball courts, and 4 will be on converted tennis courts with Tournament quality C&D nets and tournament quality court size, court lines and net dividers. 2 of the courts will have room for seating and spectators, and Gold Medal matches will be played on these courts.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds available until August 5, 2021.  No refunds will be given after August 5, 2021, unless the team replaces themselves with another team.  This is so t-shirts, medals, food, and swag can be ordered in a timely manner.  Absolutely no refund will be given for failure to show up to play.

We will do everything in our power to play the tournament as scheduled.  If weather delays or cancels the tournament, the registration fee is non-refundable.  We will make every attempt to find new dates to host the tournament if it needs to be cancelled for any reason.

Format

5 or More Teams – Double Elimination
Winners bracket – 2/3-11, win by 2

Opportunity bracket – 1-15, win by 2

Bronze medal matches – 1-15, win by 2

Gold Medal Matches – 2/3-11 (with tiebreaker as needed.)

If the loser bracket team wins 2/3-11, a final 1-15 win by 2 match will be played to determine bracket winner.

 
Round Robin Brackets (4 teams):

4 teams or players will play a single round robin, 2/3-11, win by 2.

Brackets with fewer than 4 teams:

Brackets with fewer than 4 teams or players may be moved into a combined bracket with the next nearest age group. The number of teams or players will determine the format of play. Multiple age groups with the same skill level may be combined where needed because of insufficient numbers in age groups.

Round Robin Bracket Winners:

Round Robin winners will be determined by USA Pickleball Rulebook 12.C.3:

The winner is determined based on number of matches won. (In 2/3-11 format, a match consists of 2 or 3 games.)

If two or more teams are tied:

First tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.

Second tie-breaker: point differential of all games played.

Third tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.

Fourth tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team.

All events will be played in accordance with USA Pickleball rules and regulations in effect at the time of the tournament. Only equipment approved by USA Pickleball is permitted. See USA Pickleball website for further information.
