Register now for the Tucson Challenger powered by the World Pickleball Tour! Come battle it out against some of the best amateur players in the country, get loads of free giveaways, and enter for your chance to win even more Pickleball prizes. We'll be maxing out our players' experiences by using a Round Robin format that guarantees 3+ matches, and we'll also give you a 3rd event FOR FREE if you pay for two! The World Pickleball Tour is looking forward to seeing you in Tucson.

Each player is responsible for the following:

Registration Status

• UNCONFIRMED:  individual and/or team are not registered or fully paid.

• MAIN DRAW:  Individual or team is registered and fully paid.

• WAITLIST:  Bracket has reached its initial capacity.  Teams will be added if the Event Day is not full.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Refunds in the form of credits, less a $25 processing fee, will be issued for all cancellations regardless of reason.  These funds can be put towards the tournament fees of future events.

Inclement Weather Policy

This is an outdoor tournament.  If weather is a factor, we will do all we can to play matches.  There are no refunds, credits or make up days, if the tournament is impacted by weather.  No indoor backup plan for this tournament.

Format

Round Robin Tournament with Gold Medal Playoff

8 teams or less

• Players play each individual/team once
• 4-6 teams:  games 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2
• 7-8 teams:  games 1 to 15, win by 2
• Gold Medal Match (top 2 teams advance):  game 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2
• Bronze Medal Match (3rd and 4th place teams advance):  game 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2

More than 8 teams

• Players play each individual/team once
• Individual/teams broken into pools
• 4-6 teams per pool:  games 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2
• 7-8 teams per pool:  games 1 to 15, win by 2
• Gold Medal Match (top team from each pool advance):  game 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2
• Bronze Medal Match (2nd place team from each pool advance):  game 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2

Tie-Breaker (for advancing to Medal rounds)

• 1st tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.
• 2nd tie-breaker: point differential of all games played. (e.g., Team A won Match 1 11-8, 11-4, so they would have a point differential of +10. Team A then wins the second match 11-9, 2-11, 11-6. For this round, they would have a point differential of -2. This would give them a total for the day of +8.)
• 3rd tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.
• 4th tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (e.g., If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team)

Volunteer

The World Pickleball Tour is always looking for local Pickleballers to support our success at every event we host. We typically staff 3-5 volunteer workers in each market.

PERKS: You'll receive a swag bag, tournament shirt, and coffee/lunch each day. We'll also give you discounted access to World Pickleball events in the future.

Tournament Dates: 3/31/2023 - 4/2/2023

Volunteer must haves:

-Notable experience in tournament or event management, specifically Pickleball
-Set up/labor experience for sporting events
-Brand promotion and a high IQ about the WPT
-Consumer engagement and customer service skills

Volunteer responsibilities:

-Set up and teardown (nothing over 70 lbs.)
-player registration/check-in
-consumer engagement
-brand promotion
-survey capture
-supply re-stocking and swag organization & distribution
