Cancellation Policy

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Refunds in the form of credits, less a $25 processing fee, will be issued for all cancellations regardless of reason.  These funds can be put towards the tournament fees of future events.

Inclement Weather Policy

This is an outdoor tournament.  If weather is a factor, we will do all we can to play matches.  There are no refunds, credits or make up days, if the tournament is impacted by weather.  No indoor backup plan for this tournament.

Round Robin Tournament with Playoffs

4 Teams

• Players play each individual/team twice
• Games 1 to 11, win by 2
• Top 2 teams, based upon win/loss record, advance to Gold Medal Match; next 2 to Bronze Medal Match
• Gold Medal Match:  games 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2
• Bronze Medal Match:  2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2

5 or 6 Teams

• Players play each individual/team once
• Games 1 to 15, win by 2
• Top 2 teams, based upon win/loss record, advance to Gold Medal Match; next 2 to Bronze Medal Match
• Gold Medal Match:  games 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2
• Bronze Medal Match:  2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2

7 Teams

• Players play each individual/team once
• Games 1 to 11, win by 2

• Players are broken into 2 pools and play each individual/team in their group once or twice (4 team pools only)
• Games are dependent upon the number of teams in pool
  • 4:  1 to 11, win by 2; Double Round Robin
  • 5 or 6:  1 to 15, win by 2
  • 7 or 8:  1 to 11, win by 2
• Top 2 teams from each pool, based upon win/loss record, advance to single-elimination playoff
• Semi-finals:  games 1 to 15, win by 2
• Gold Medal Match:  winners from semi-final, games 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2
• Bronze Medal Match:  non-winners from semi-final; games 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2

Tie-Breaker (for advancing to Playoffs)

• 1st tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.
• 2nd tie-breaker: point differential of all games played. (e.g., Team A won Match 1 11-8, 11-4, so they would have a point differential of +10. Team A then wins the second match 11-9, 2-11, 11-6. For this round, they would have a point differential of -2. This would give them a total for the day of +8.)
• 3rd tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.
• 4th tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (e.g., If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team)

** Formats are subject to change based upon player/team no shows, withdrawals, weather conditions, court limitations, and time restrictions

** Teams/individuals are awarded medals and qualify for WPT Amateur Invitational based upon Skiill/Age results in combined brackets.

Volunteer

The World Pickleball Tour is always looking for local Pickleballers to support our success at every event we host. We typically staff 3-5 volunteer workers in each market.

PERKS: You'll receive a swag bag, tournament shirt, and coffee/lunch each day. We'll also give you discounted access to World Pickleball events in the future.

Tournament Dates: 2/10/2023 - 2/12/2023

Volunteer must haves:

-Notable experience in tournament or event management, specifically Pickleball
-Set up/labor experience for sporting events
-Brand promotion and a high IQ about the WPT
-Consumer engagement and customer service skills

Volunteer responsibilities:

-Set up and teardown (nothing over 70 lbs.)
-player registration/check-in
-consumer engagement
-brand promotion
-survey capture
-supply re-stocking and swag organization & distribution
