Tournament Description

PROCEEDS FROM THIS TOURNAMENT WILL BE DONATED TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF CHRISTINA LAKE which was chartered on July 13, 2021, in Rotary District 5080, an international district comprised of 57 Rotary Clubs in southeastern BC, eastern Washington, and north Idaho. Christina Lake Rotary engages in local community service projects in both Christina Lake and Grand Forks, and is currently engaged in disaster relief efforts in Ukraine, providing humanitarian aid to refugees and displaced persons, with funding provided by the Rotary Foundation.

Cancellation Policy

If a Player withdraws within 5 days of registration they will receive a FULL refund

If a Player withdraws after 5 days of registration but before July 30, 2022 they will receive a full refund minus a $10.00 admin fee

NO REFUNDS ON OR AFTER JULY 30, 2022

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:  We will make every effort to play all scheduled matches/games.  This is an outdoor tournament and weather is a risk.  No refunds will be issued in the event of a cancellation due to weather. 

CANCELLATION DUE TO COVID-19: There also remains an ongoing risk of cancellation due to Covid-19. Consideration will be given to timing of cancellation and any expenses paid out at that time before a decision can be made about refunds.

Format

Current Membership with Pickleball Canada is required for this tournament. 

Events will be played in accordance with the IFP rules and regulations in effect at the time of the tournament. IFP approved equipment only. Please refer to the IFP web site for details: http://ipickleball.org/rules/IFP_Paddle_Material_Specifications

Skill level brackets 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 will be played 

Double Elimination (5 teams +)

Winners bracket – 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2.

Losers bracket – 1 to 15, win by 2 or first to 17

Bronze medal matches – 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2.

Gold medal matches – 2 out of 3 to 11, win by 2.  If the losers bracket wins 2 out of 3 to 11, then another match will be played 1 to 15, win by 2 (or first to 17) tiebreaker game will be played to determine the winner.

*If there are 3-4 teams in a bracket, they will play a double round robin, 1 to 15, win by 2 or first to 17

*If there are 2 teams or less in a bracket they will be combined with another bracket

Round Robin 

All teams play each other.  The winner is determined based on the number of matches won. If two or more teams are tied:

• 1st tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.
• 2nd tie-breaker: point differential of all games played. 
• 3rd tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.
• 4th tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (e.g., If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team.)
