Tournament Description

"WE’VE Got the POWER to #ENDALZ": This annual Mixed Doubles--SKILL tournament is taking on a new dimension as proceeds go to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Participate in this Mixed Doubles--SKILL tournament and support the work of this fine organization.

Lunch is included with your registration.  You will be issued a meal ticket to redeem your complementary lunch at the Lamplighter Village Tiki Hut.  Your guests are welcome to enjoy the Tiki Bar lunch for $5.

REGISTRATION

The $35 registration fee covers participation in the mixed doubles event and entitles the player to lunch at the Tiki hut.

If the registration fee of any player is not paid in full by Monday, October 17, 2022, both he/she and his/her partner will be moved to the bottom of the Waitlist and notified of this action via e-mail.  The first team on the corresponding Waitlist will be moved to the main draw, also notified of their new status via e-mail, and have 24 hours within which to pay the registration fee in full.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

This tournament is an outdoor event.  If inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstance causes play to be suspended, every effort will be made to complete unfinished matches on Saturday, November 5, 2022.  This may necessitate the modification of match formats.  Please make your travel plans with this possibility in mind!

Need A Partner?

Go to the Players Needing Partners list to find a partner in your skill/age group.  Remember, you may only play DOWN in age and UP in skill.

Need A Sub?

If your partner cancels BEFORE the REGISTRATION DEADLINE of Monday, October 17, 2022, please e-mail the Tournament Operations Director (dereck@pickleballgamestats.com) to add a new partner.  This person may or may not have already registered for the tournament.  However, if your partner cancels AFTER  Monday, October 17, 2022, you MUST choose a player who is already registered for the tournament from the Players Needing Partners list.  A replacement player must be able to play in the same skill/age group vacated by your former partner.  He/she may play DOWN in age and UP in skill.  Replacements must be communicated to the Tournament Operations Director by 6:00 PM Eastern Time on Friday, October 28, 2022.  Any request received after 6:00 PM will be reviewed by the Tournament Operations Director with no guarantee that it will be approved.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline of Monday, October 17, 2022.

- Take I-95 S to FL-518 E/W Eau Gallie Blvd. (Exit 183)

- Turn left on FL-518 E Eau Gallie Blvd. to N. John Rodes Blvd.

- Turn right on N. John Rodes Blvd. to Lantern Blvd.  Destination will be on your right.

From the south:

- Take I-95 N to Ellis Rd/St. Johns Heritage Pkwy (Exit 182)

- Turn right onto Ellis Rd/St. Johns Heritage Pkwy to S. John Rodes Blvd.

- Turn left on S. John Rodes Blvd. to Lantern Blvd.  Destination will be on your left.

Format

NOTE: This is a Mixed Doubles only SKILL tournament (i.e., players of all ages will compete against each other at the same skill level) with a maximum of eight (8) teams per skill level bracket.

SKILL LEVEL BRACKETS:

• 2.5 and 3.0 will be played from 8a - 11:30a
• 3.5 and 4.0+ will be played from 11:30a - 3p

To eliminate excessive wait times and ensure that everyone plays an adequate number of matches, a limit of eight (8) teams has been placed on each Skill level bracket.  Once registration for a bracket is full, additional teams will be placed on the Waitlist.  If the registration fee of any player is not paid in full by the PAYMENT DEADLINE (Monday, October 17, 2022), both he/she and his/her partner will be moved to the bottom of the Waitlist and notified of this action via e-mail.  The first team on the Waitlist will be moved to the main draw, also notified of their new status via e-mail, and have 24 hours within which to pay the registration fee in full.

FORMAT:

• This Mixed Doubles tournament is run as a Round Robin
• All teams will play against every other team in their Skill level bracket
• All matches will be 1 game to 15 points win by 2, capped at 21 points
• There are no playoff or medal rounds
• The gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the teams with the corresponding winning records according to the Win Criteria below

Win Criteria:

• Number of matches won
• 1st Tiebreak: head-to-head
• 2nd Tiebreak: point differential
• 3rd Tiebreak: total points
• 4th Tiebreak: point differential against the next highest team

Brackets with three teams or less will be combined with another skill level group.

Based upon registration, we reserve the right to alter the match formats.
